I am collaborating with CBC Radio 1, Metro Morning, to create a Secret Toronto Map. We are looking for submissions of your favourite secret place. Here is the interview. Keep sending submissions to Metro Morning. Friday Sept. 20th, is the deadline. I will gather them all up and choose a segment of the city where there’s a high concentration of secret spots to map out. The final illustration will be printed in Spacing Magazine, The 10th Anniversary issue, early December. Unfortunately I won’t fit everyone’s secret place on to this double page spread but I think it is going to be one of my favourite maps. The submissions have been really interesting. I’ll also have it for sale as a print (nice xmas gift).
The DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC MEMORY makes and installs site-specific street signs to celebrate and commemorate city services that have been cut or are under threat. A map for this project is in process. A lot of services have been cut!
